It’s king cake season, and on this week’s Louisiana Eats, we look at how this Carnival indulgence has become the phenomenon it is today. We begin in at longtime family-run king cake purveyor, Randazzo’s Camellia City Bakery in Slidell.

Then, we learn how King Cake Hub owner Will Samuels has found business success through Carnival-style promotion. King Cake Hub offers king cakes from bakeries across New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana in a one-stop shop

Finally, we meet a man who has magically put king cake in a bottle. Max Messier of Cocktail & Sons stops by our studio to tell us about his seasonal king cake syrup. He also mixes us up a drink, and we toast another Mardi Gras.
