It’s New Orleans: Happy Hour

Hosted ByGrant Morris & Andrew Duhon

HAPPY HOUR is a cocktail-fueled 60 minutes of random conversation with folks who have nothing in common, other than being New Orleanians in a bar. Featuring extraordinary New Orleans musicians playing live, host Grant Morris and sidekick deluxe Andrew Duhon.

Pineapple Pumpernickel – Happy Hour – It’s New Orleans

This is what we are not allowed to know about Emma Iris DiAnna: where she works or what she does for a living.

emma iris dianna

This is what we are allowed to know. She hates yoga, hates people who call their kids “Emma” like the idiot baby on Friends, sleeps with a dog, went to a Montessori pre-school with Sikh teachers, grew up with a gay mom, and toys with what would be a good “safe word.” Maybe “pineapple” or “pumpernickel.” For some reason Emma Iris also has this photo of chef Susan Spicer on her phone.

Lance Fields, aka DJ Bogo Jeggings, also has a couple of interesting photos on his phone. One of a house in Algiers with a Confederate flag, an American flag and a gay rainbow flag. It’s not impossible that one could be a Southern gay Confederate-loving Westbanker but there are other equally plausible explanations. Another photo on Lance’s phone is, randomly, our other guest on Happy Hour today, Cristina Perez, aka Kiki the Cuban Chiquita.

It’s not totally freaky that Lance would have Cristina’s photo, given that Cristina is a famous New Orleans entertainer, but Cristina’s photo on her phone …

…of her twin sister Gabi – who may or not be identical – and her tale of she and her parents playing the role of patients in a plane crash on the day of Gabi’s engagement is, well, about as nutty as it gets.

This happy hour could easily go on for another 3 hours – this is as great a group of totally random people as you’ll ever meet.
