Once a week host Kim Vu invites a guest to chat about Vietnamese etiquette, ancient proverbs, Vietnamese events in New Orleans, and Vietnamese food. A Vietnamese-American recently arrived from California, Kim combines her own discovery of the local Vietnamese community with her deep familiarity and love of Vietnamese life and customs. What do you do after earning runner-up status on NBC’s The Voice and releasing a #1 single on iTunes?  You go to Vietnam and appear on their version of the The Voice of course!  That’s what New Orleans-based recording artist Terry McDermott did anyway, and he killed it there too!

Terry’s been described by Adam Levine as having a “clean, and really pristine, beautiful voice” and by others as having a brit-pop sound that’s well, just “bloody good.”  We don’t disagree with any of that.
 
 
This week the Scottish born rocker joins us on VietNOLA, to talk about his experience in Vietnam, to share his deep connections with Vietnamese culture, and how it was his voice came to be heard during every J.League (professional) soccer game in Japan.
